Meet the Dr.

Dr. Leslie McIntosh, Psy.D, ABSNP, is a licensed practicing psychologist and certified school psychologist in the state of New Jersey. A 15-year veteran in the field of developmental disabilities, and prepared by numerous roles in education, community mental health, and private practice settings, Dr. Leslie provides high-quality psychological services for neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan. Shortly after completing a BA in psychology from Montclair State University, he began his journey as a social worker and case manager at a welfare agency in South New Jersey, where he cut his teeth in the human services field. Wanting to have an earlier impact in the lives of others, he gained experience as an ABA therapist for young children with autism, and also worked as a direct support professional for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities and co-morbid mental diagnoses. He acquired his first experiences in education as a paraprofessional in a private school for autism, and as a behavior specialist supporting a BCBA starting an ABA program in a public school district. From there, he became a behaviorist at a community agency for developmental disabilities, where he led functional behavior assessments, designed behavior support plans, trained staff on data collection and implementation, and consulted on program development for new initiatives. At this time, he was near completion of the graduate program in school psychology at NJCU (now Kean Jersey City), and upon achieving his standard certification, swiftly became a school psychologist in NJ public schools—a role that synthesized all his previous experiences under one hat. Sensing his professional journey wasn’t yet complete, he returned to school to acquire his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), followed by a Diplomate in school neuropsychology (ABSNP) from the School Neuropsychology Institute. In his work in private practice settings for post-doctoral training, Dr. Leslie has made diagnoses and written reports that have consistently been accepted by insurance companies and school districts for planning medical treatments and/or educational programming for the clients he serves.
